Nowka Named to National Center Wall of Fame
Dr. Harry Nowka, professor of economics and faculty co-adviser of the Phi Beta Lambda chapter at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, was recently named to the Future Business Leaders of America-PBL National Center “Wall of Fame.” The “Wall of Fame” was created to recognize advisers and state chairs with 20 or more years of service to FBLA-PBL. Congratulating Nowka is Dr. Nancy Buddy Penner, co-advisor of the SWOSU PBL chapter.

Dr. Harry Nowka, professor of economics and faculty co-adviser of Delta Nu Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, was recently named to the Future Business Leaders of America-PBL National Center “Wall of Fame.”

FBLA-PBL has several programs to recognize outstanding local chapter advisers. The “Wall of Fame” was created to recognize advisers and state chairs with 20 or more years of service to FBLA-PBL. Jean M. Buckley, president and CEO of FBLA-PBL, presented the award to Nowka on behalf of the national association and thanked him for his commitment to making FBLA-PBL a vibrant and growing organization.

Nowka has been involved with PBL for over 40 years as state adviser, chapter adviser and for the last 15 years chapter co-adviser with Dr. Nancy Buddy Penner. Nowka was also recognized at the 2005 Oklahoma State PBL Conference in April where he received the “State Advisor Service Recognition Award.”

PBL is an educational association for postsecondary students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The FBLA-PBL mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
