Busy Day Planned Thursday at SWOSU
Southwestern Oklahoma State University's 11th annual Organizational Fair this Thursday, August 25, will kick off a busy day on the Weatherford campus.
In addition to the popular fair, the SWOSU women’s soccer team and football team will kick off their 2005 seasons later in the day.
Nearly 60 booths will be on display at the SWOSU Organizational Fair. Various businesses and clubs/organizations will be on hand for the fair that starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. on the Student Union South Lawn. The fair is a popular event for area businesses that want to showcase their products and services to the many students at SWOSU. Student organizations also set up booths to recruit new club members.
The fair is sponsored by the SWOSU Student Government Association.
Joe Bradley’s women’s soccer team will start the 2005 season by hosting St. Gregory’s at 3 p.m. at the Athletic Complex. Then, later Thursday night, the SWOSU football team, guided by first-year coach Ryan Held, will kick off its season by hosting Panhandle State University at 7 p.m. at Milam Stadium.
Admission is free to the soccer game. Tickets for the football game are $7, while youngsters under the age of 11 are admitted free.
Following the football game as part of Dawg Days at SWOSU, the movie The Longest Yard will be shown on the football practice field just south of Milam Stadium. The outdoor movie is expected to start at approximately 10 p.m.
