Nickels, Scouten Named SWOSU Employees in the Spotlight
Mary Lou Scouten

David Nickels and Mary Lou Scouten are the employees in the spotlight during the month of November at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

Nickels is an electrician for SWOSU. He has worked at the university for two years. He and his wife, Dana, have one son, Joshua, and one daughter, Ashley. He attends Emmanuel Baptist Church. Nickels has been a firefighter for 12 years. He is involved in the NRA and he enjoys hunting, fishing, farming and poker runs.

Scouten is the secretary for the SWOSU Chemistry/Physics Department. Having retired from the Registrar’s Office in 2002, Scouten began working at SWOSU again in 2003. Altogether, she has worked at SWOSU for 24 years. She and her husband, Robert, live south of Hydro. They have three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She attends a Baptist church and enjoys making cookbooks.
