Applications Available for Geospatial Summer Institute


Southwestern Oklahoma State University is now accepting applications for the Geospatial Summer Institute that will be held May 17-24 in Norman.

The Institute, sponsored by the Oklahoma NASA Space Grant, is a three credit hour fellowship program that explores technological, application and industrial experiences in Remote Sensing, Global Positioning Systems and Geographic Information Systems.

Twelve fellowships at $1,250 each will be awarded to students attending Oklahoma NASA Space Grant Consortium affiliate institutions. Fellowships provide for tuition, fees, materials, meals and lodging. Each student will also receive a $250 stipend.

Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply. Students must be a U.S. citizen. Application materials are available online at or can be picked up from Deana Burritt at the SWOSU Center for Telemedicine and Web-based Distance Learning in Room 104B of the Old Science Building on the SWOSU campus in Weatherford.

All application materials must be turned into the Center for Telemedicine and Web-based Distance Learning by March 24.
