Alcohol Awareness Day Planned April 12 at SWOSU
Alcohol Awareness Day is planned this Wednesday, April 12, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a variety of activities planned on the Weatherford campus.
A panel of speakers will be featured at 12 noon in the Commuters Lounge, located on the south side of the Student Union. Judge Jackie Duncan, SWOSU Associate Provost Cindy Foust, substance abuse educator Annette Harper and Loretta Denman of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will talk about binge drinking and other alcohol concerns.
Starting at 11:30 a.m. and continuing through 1:30 p.m., free hot dogs will be available, donated and cooked by the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Free soft drinks and water are being provided by the Greek Council of SWOSU.
Vision impair goggles and one-on-one counseling will be available starting at 11:30.
The event is sponsored by the Wesley Foundation, Oklahoma Army National Guard and the Collegiate Activities Board. The public is invited to the event.
