Trio Named SWOSU Employees of the Year by Students
Lisa Appeddu, Misty Williams and Roberta Williams are the first-time winners of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Brandy Awards.
The Brandy Awards are to honor the faculty, administrator and staff of the year and were chosen by SWOSU students who voted during the recent SGA elections. All three winners received a traveling Brandy Award plus an engraved pen.
Appeddu was chosen SWOSU Faculty Member of the Year. She is an assistant professor in the School of Allied Health. Misty Williams is the Administrator of the Year. She is assistant director of Residence Life. Roberta Williams is Staff Member of the Year and she works in the cafeteria.
All SWOSU employees were invited to a recent reception hosted by the Collegiate Activities Board. Nora Gomez and Natalie Jordan served as event chairs.
“We hope to do this again next year because CAB’s intent is to reach not only the students of SWOSU but also to let the faculty know how much we appreciate them,” Jordan said.
Shameika Williams, director of CAB, said the event was a success and CAB had a great time getting ready for it. She said it was a joy to see the smiles on the faces of so many people.
Each faculty member, staff member and administrator on the SWOSU campus should have received a goodie bag and a cup from CAB. If anyone did not receive those items, stop by the CAB office in Room 214 of the Stafford Center.
