SWOSU's McKee Named Director of Accrediting Board

Dr. Larry McKee, associate dean of the School of Business and Technology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, has been appointed to the board of directors of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, an accrediting body for business programs in colleges and universities throughout the world.

McKee is one of nine directors representing various regions of the United States and world. He was appointed at the recent national conference and will serve a two-year term.

McKee has been a faculty member at SWOSU since 1998 and has served as associate dean of the School of Business and Technology since 2004. 

The IACBE utilizes a distinctly different approach to accreditation, where excellence in business education is based on the results of the assessment of educational outcomes, rather than on prescriptive input standards. Because of the essential role that educational processes play in determining educational outcomes, the IACBE has developed accreditation expectations related to best practices in business education.

The IACBE accredits degree programs in business and business-related fields at institutions with baccalaureate and/or graduate degree programs.
