SWOSU Receives Over $100,000 in Grants and Contracts
Southwestern Oklahoma State University with campus locations in Weatherford and Sayre recently received confirmation of over $108,000 in grants and contracts.
Anita Blankenship, director of the Office of Sponsored Programs at SWOSU, said the two grants and one contract amount to $108,942.
The awards include:
- $79,962 grant with the National Science Foundation to support a program to increase the number of students and to retain and graduate more students in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. “SURE-STEP Supporting Undergraduate Research and Education Year 3” is led by Dr. Brian Campbell, who is also the principal investigator of the award.
- $20,000 grant from the National Institute of Health to support the purchase of laboratory equipment to enhance research infrastructure for interdisciplinary biomedical research involving undergraduate students. Principal investigator is Dr. William Kelly.
- $8,980 contract from the Oklahoma State Department of Education to support a program to increase content knowledge and the creation of standard-based mathematics and science lessons for K-12 students in rural western Oklahoma. Principal investigator of the contract is Dr. Brian Campbell.
