SWOSU Receives $174,000 in Agreements & Contract
Southwestern Oklahoma State University recently received over $174,000 in grants and contracts.
Anita Blankenship, director of the Office of Sponsored Programs on the Weatherford campus of SWOSU, said the biggest award was a $158,988 cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration to support the Small Business Development Center. The center enhances economic development in the southwestern region of Oklahoma by offering counseling and training to existing and potential small business clients. Principal investigator is Dr. Marvin Hankins.
SWOSU also received a $9,360 contract with Freightliner Specialty Vehicles to support a mentoring internship program for training undergraduate students. Madeline Baugher is principal investigator.
The final award is a $6,000 cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide meal support for participants who are associated with the Upward Bound program. Principal investigator is Jamie Ayers.
