Got Milk? SWOSU Does This Thursday

September 5, 2006

Got Milk? Well, several Southwestern Oklahoma State University students who live in Rogers and Jefferson Hall are going to get the opportunity for milk this Thursday, September 7, on the Weatherford campus.

The residence hall’s 2nd annual Milk Chugging Contest will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the basketball courts near Rogers and Jefferson Hall.

Hall Director Matt Bartel said even though the contest is only for R & J Hall residents, they do want area residents to come watch the contest.

“We’ll have a good time and it should be an enjoyable contest to watch,” Bartel said.

Bartel said 36 SWOSU male students have signed up for the contest. Prizes will be awarded to the students who drink a gallon of milk in the fastest times.

Paul Raupe, who is a resident of Jefferson Hall, won the contest last year. He downed a gallon of milk in five minutes and 26 seconds.

Bartel invites everyone to come watch and humorously adds that no cows have been harmed for this event.
