The SWOSU chapter is part of a 30,000 member national association, which represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations and other components of health care systems.

"ASHP helps prepare pharmacy students for a career outside of the retail drugstore," ASHP President-Elect Cassi Mettry of Wynnewood said.

This fall members will travel to Anaheim, California, to attend the 41st national ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition.

Students interested in receiving more information about the organization are encouraged to attend the September 18 membership drive meeting at 7 p.m. in Room 317 of the Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics Building on the SWOSU campus.
