Tracy Morgan Event Delayed One Week at SWOSU
Because of filming conflicts for a new television comedy, Tracy Morgan’s performance at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford has been moved one week later to Tuesday, October 10.
Morgan will appear at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center as part of the SWOSU Panorama series.
Morgan was scheduled to appear at SWOSU on October 3. But, production for 30 Rock—a new comedy series on NBC starring Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey and Morgan—has been extended to October 3, which forced Morgan to move the SWOSU event to October 10.
For individuals who have already purchased tickets for October 3, those tickets are good for the October 10 event. For individuals wanting a refund, contact the SWOSU Business Office, located on the first floor of the Administration Building.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience,” said Brian Adler, chair of the Panorama Committee. “Morgan’s new comedy show actually debuts on NBC the very next night (October 11) so we’re excited he will be here at SWOSU on the 10th.”
Advance tickets are $10 for SWOSU students and $20 for non-students. All tickets at the door are $25. The event is for mature audiences only.
Tickets are available at the SWOSU Public Relations & Marketing Office, Room 205 of
the Administration Building, and at the SWOSU Business Office, Room 109 of the Administration Building. Tickets can also be purchased with a credit card by calling 580.774.3019.
Morgan is best known for being a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1996 to 2003. One of his recurring SNL characters was Brian Fellow, host of Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet. His memorable impressions include those of Aretha Franklin, Maya Angelou, Samuel L. Jackson, Mike Tyson and Star Jones.
His movie credits include The Longest Yard, Are We There Yet? Head of State, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Half Baked. Morgan can be heard as Spoonie Luv in the Comedy Central television program Crank Yankers.
