Southwestern Oklahoma State University Pharmacy Association’s recent Operation Immunization consisted of students giving free flu vaccines at the Agape Free Clinic in Weatherford as well as on the SWOSU campus.

Among those helping were (from left): SWPhA faculty sponsor Dr. Nina Morris, Holly McDevitt, Operation Immunization Chair Megan Rushing, Daniel DeGarmo and SWPhA President Mattea McClain. Over 50 vaccines were given at no charge. Operation Immunization is a patient care project designed to help advocate, educate, and administer vaccines, according to McClain.

The group also helped SWOSU Nurse Becky McBride deliver 200 doses of flu vaccines during two flu clinics held on the campus.  SWPhA has also worked with many local pharmacies to spread the word about who should get the flu vaccine by giving away free pharmacy bag stuffers.

The patient care project is supported in part by SWOSU student allocation funds.
