SGA Launches 10 Big Ideas for SWOSU Campaign
In an unprecedented effort to enact policies important to the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford, the SWOSU Student Government Association (SGA) has launched the “10 Big Ideas for SWOSU” campaign.
Any SWOSU student, faculty, or staff member may submit an idea—any idea—to the SGA that he or she believes would benefit the university. SWOSU Student Body President Garrett King and his administrative team will choose 10 of the submitted proposals, craft the submissions into ten legislative measures, and then take those measures to the Student Senate for consideration. Deadline for entries is February 14 at 5 p.m.
These ideas will join the ranks of other SGA initiated policies that SWOSU has taken on, including former measures that have affected everything from housing issues to adoption of the Wellness Center.
“We in student government are not simply administrative in nature; the student constitution clearly mandates that we take beneficial action to hear and voice the concerns of everyone who holds a stake in this university,” King of Binger said. “My administration seeks to fulfill this duty by gathering ideas that will move SWOSU forward.”
Ideas may be submitted on the SGA website at www.swosu.edu/administration/studentdean/sga-index.asp, by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by fax to 580.774.0612, or dropped off in written form in the Dean of Students Office, located in Stafford Center 214. (STF214). For additional information, call the SGA office at 580.774.0615.
