Bar-S Foods Company Employees Complete SWOSU Leadership Class

Managers from Bar-S Foods Company recently graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s new Leadership Development Class. This was the second group of employees to complete the class, which was developed to provide managers with leadership skills to succeed in the advancement and supervision of employees. The class is available to any western Oklahoma companies. Attending were (front from left): Robby Joyce, Elk City; Dori Hohrman and Gretta Abramson, both of Clinton; Teresa Owens, Elk City; Alice Cifuentes, Clinton; and David Lantz, Elk City. Back from left—Scott Vowell, Clinton; Garth Brose, Elk City; Jeff Short, Dr. Larry McKee and Jim Long, all of SWOSU; and Shawn Pyron and Art Fournier, both of Elk City. Paul Walenciak with SWOSU’s Center for Economic and Business Development said the class can be adjusted in length and by subject to meet individual company needs.

Mark Lantz of Bar-S Foods Company experiences the Southwestern Oklahoma State University ropes course that is located at Crowder Lake. The course, operated by the SWOSU School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, is used for team building exercises and designed to enhance group cohesion, communications skills, trust, problem solving abilities, self confidence and leadership. Lantz took part in the ropes course as part of the Leadership Development Class at SWOSU, directed by Paul Walenciak.
