Miss SWOSU Wins Scholarship at Miss Oklahoma Pageant

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Pinkey Patel of Chandler has already won an award at this week’s Miss Oklahoma Pageant.

Patel won the $1,000 Miss America Academic Scholar Award on Monday. Only one of these awards was given, and Patel won the award for her 4.0 grade point average. She is a junior majoring in pre-pharmacy at SWOSU.

 Patel will start preliminary competition Tuesday night with the pageant continuing in Tulsa through June 9. She is among 44 contestants vying for the Miss Oklahoma title.
