SWOSU Students Receive NASA Space Grant Scholarships
Southwestern Oklahoma State University students Terri Ann Quinn of Weatherford and Jason Peace of Wellston are recipients of NASA Space Grant Scholarships.
Quinn, a graduate student in health sciences and microbiology, is conducting research dealing with lowered milk production in cows due to bacterial infection. She is working under the direction of faculty member Dr. Lisa Appeddu. Microbial analysis is being conducted using the facilities at SWOSU.
Peace, a graduate student in pharmacy, is working on research dealing with feed digestibility in cows to optimize growth. He is also working under the direction of faculty Dr. Appeddu. The research is focused on studying internal digestibility markers using the facilities at SWOSU.
Both Quinn and Peace have also agreed to volunteer at the Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford or another community service organization as part of the scholarship opportunities.
SWOSU is a member of the NASA Oklahoma Space Grant Consortium, which provides scholarship funds for students in science and technology areas at member institutions.
