SWOSU-Sayre PBL Members Place at Nationals

Phi Beta Lambda members and faculty advisor Dr. Patsy Parker from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre recently attended a PBL national conference in Chicago. Phi Beta Lambda members and faculty advisor Dr. Patsy Parker from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre recently attended a PBL national conference in Chicago.

The SWOSU-Sayre students competed in individual and team competitions during the conference. The emerging business issues team of Tina Porter and Lauren Eaves placed eighth among 28 national competitors. Eaves also competed in accounting principles.

Other students who competed were: Brian Atteberry, business law; Dustin Batterton, financial concepts and future business executive; Megan Dickson, database design and applications and word processing; Jennifer Hayden, management analysis and decision making; and Doug Tate, economic concepts and marketing concepts.

The theme of the 2007 national leadership conference was FBLA-PBL: Your Ticket to the Future.

Future Business Leaders of America–Phi Beta Lambda, Inc., is a post-secondary national student vocational education association that prepares students for careers in business and business education. Membership is over 250,000. There are over 11,000 chapters across the United States and abroad.
