SWOSU College of Pharmacy Begins One Grand Challenge
Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s College of Pharmacy has started a One Grand Challenge to raise $1 million for academic enrichment, scholarships and endowments for the pharmacy program on the Weatherford campus.
Phil Woodward, a 1971 graduate of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy and executive director of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association since 2001, is the first SWOSU alum to participate in the new program by contributing $1,000.
Patti Harper, alumni and development officer for the SWOSU College of Pharmacy, said the goal of the One Grand Challenge is for 1,000 alumni to each pledge $1,000 to reach the $1 million campaign goal.
Woodward, who lives in Yukon and is a member of the SWOSU Pharmacy Alumni Association, challenges other pharmacy graduates to join him in giving a “grand” gift that will make a difference and impact the future of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
“The level of participation is important to the pharmacy college’s educational resources,” Harper said. “Increasing participation—both in terms of the number of alumni who contribute and the total dollars given—will ensure the SWOSU College of Pharmacy’s continued position as an outstanding program and act as a catalyst for others to make their own gifts.”
