Nixon Wins AAUW Scholarship

Southwestern Oklahoma State University student Minoma Nixon has won a $300 Nancy McClain Honorary Scholarship.

Nixon was presented the award at a recent meeting of the American Association of University Women branch in Weatherford.

 The scholarship is applicable to the spring 2008 semester.  Nixon is an art education major at SWOSU.  After graduation, she plans to teach plus continue to do research to preserve Tribal archives. While at SWOSU, she is serving as president of the Native American Club and is a member of the National Education Association, the Weatherford Festival of the Arts, and Oklahoma Native American Students of Higher Education.
