SWOSU Music Community Groups Accepting New Members
Vocalize a couple of notes or get out that trumpet that was played in high school or dig that cello out of the closet and join one of the evening performance groups at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
As the new semester begins, several evening music performance groups are accepting new members. SWOSU groups that are open for public participation from middle school students through adults include the Community Chorus, Community Band and the University Orchestra. These groups are open to the public at no charge or may be taken for college credit, according to SWOSU Music Department Chair Dr. Terry Segress.
The Community Chorus, directed by new SWOSU faculty member Daniel Farris, meets on Monday evenings from 7:20-9:10 p.m. in Room 101 of the Music Building. The group will sing a variety of fun music and will present two concerts on campus during the semester. For additional information, please call Farris at 580.774.3208 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
