SWOSU Accepting Applications for Science and Math Academy
Southwestern Oklahoma State University will host a summer science and mathematics academy this summer for 32 high ability students who will be juniors or seniors in the fall of 2008.
Chemistry Professor Dr. Brian Campbell said the June 2-13 academy is accepting applications. The academy is made possible by a grant from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
There are no direct costs to the students, according to Campbell. The academy and State Regents provide room and meal plans as well as all materials for lectures and laboratories.
Students who meet two of the following requirements may apply for admission: 1) rank in the top 90th percentile on the MATS, ITBS or ACT tests; 2) rank in the top 10% of their class; 3) have a 3.0 grade point average in college prep classes; 4) receive outstanding letters of recommendation.
Additional information about applications or the academy is available by contacting Campbell at 580.774.3118 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
