Battle of the Genders Coming Back to SWOSU
The “Battle of The Genders” is coming back to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
The Collegiate Activities Board is sponsoring the 3rd annual event that allows single-gendered groups of four to compete against each other in hopes of winning an iPOD nano for each member of their team.
The event will take place February 19-20 at the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus. The events will start at approximately 6 p.m. each evening.
Event Chair Sarah Webb said there are a maximum of 15 openings for teams of four to register, so it is strongly encouraged for teams to register as soon as they are formed. The event is open to all faculty, staff, administration, and students of SWOSU. Any mixture of these groups is acceptable. CAB urges each department and organization to organize a same-gender team to compete. In order to win the grand prize, teams much follow these rules:
The team must be the same-gender, i.e. all male or female.
Each team must register by February 14 in the Dean of Students Office, Stafford 214. The registrations forms are also available on the CAB website.
Teams must be available both nights of the events. Eight teams will be cut after night #1.
Teams can be a mixture of faculty, staff, administrators and students.
The teams will not be allowed to switch out any members once the event has begun. Changes can be made to the team after the registration has been submitted and the competition has not yet begun.
Each team is required to provide their own team t-shirt to make them more easily identifiable to the judges. The shirts must be the same color and can be printed or hand-made as long as all participating individuals are wearing them.
Each team member will be required to sign a liability release form as part of registration.
Finally, the teams must be willing to get dirty!
Some of the events for this year include:
An obstacle course
- Dizzy Free Throw
- Gender related trivia
- And so many more exciting events
Points will be calculated at the end of each day and the team with the most points at the end of the two days will take home four iPOD nanos. Registration forms are available in the Dean of Students Office (Stafford Center 214). Forms will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on February 14.
