New Graduate Program in Management Available at SWOSU

April 10, 2008

Southwestern Oklahoma University has a new graduate program that allows individuals to earn a Master’s of Science degree in Management.

The new degree program is one of many ways SWOSU is working to meet the educational goals and needs of professionals in western Oklahoma.

The program is specifically designed to meet the educational needs of professionals in the area who hold non-business degrees. It decreases the number of prerequisites one must fulfill to begin graduate course work from 24 hours down to 6.  Students also have the option to fulfill their prerequisites by demonstrating adequate knowledge of management principles through CLEP tests.

The program has an 18-hour core curriculum and requires 3-6 hours of management electives and 9-12 hours of the chosen “option” field.  The option fields available include Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Technology, Management, and Marketing.  A total of 33 hours is necessary to complete degree requirements.

Plans are also underway to make the entire program available for distance learning campuses, allowing students from across western Oklahoma to achieve their educational and career goals.
