OBI Needs Blood at SWOSU Drive on June 23
June 12, 2008
The Oklahoma Blood Institute needs blood and Southwestern Oklahoma State University will be hosting a blood drive on Monday, June 23, on the Weatherford campus.
All blood donors are needed, but Michelle Stinson of the OBI said the institute is especially in need of Type O and Type A donors.
The blood drive is from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the SWOSU Wellness Center.
Stinson said the OBI has a new online scheduling program that allows anyone to sign up online for a guaranteed appointment. OBI staff will guarantee these appointments as long as the person shows up within five minutes of the scheduled appointment.
“It is really great and cuts down on the waiting, because if you schedule and show up on time, you get to take cuts to the screening area with no waiting,” Stinson said.
