Adams Now Heading Up NSO at SWOSU
The New Student Orientation program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford has a new coordinator.
Shelby Adams is in her first year with the NSO program. She had been working as the administrative assistant for the NSO and Career Services office since October, 2007.
Originally from Fritch (TX), Adams received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from SWOSU in December of 2007 and is currently working on a Master of Business Administration degree.
Adams served as an orientation leader for three years, serving on both the advisory board and auxiliary board. In 2007, she received the Region IV National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) Student Leadership Award, a prestigious award given to only two students in a five-state region.
Adams said she is very excited about working with new students and their families. Her office is located in the Burton House, south of the Al Harris Library. She can be reached at 580.774.3233 or e-mail email@example.com.
NSO works with incoming freshmen. There is a three-step process for freshmen to complete: attending an enrollment session to enroll for the fall semester, attending mass orientation before school begins, and attending an eight-week class during the fall semester.
