Over 200 Seniors Attend Career Day at SWOSU-Sayre

November 10, 2008

More than 200 seniors from 13 area high schools recently attended the 9th annual Career Day at Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre.

The day’s activities began with refreshments and campus tours given by SWOSU students. Representatives from the Sayre and Weatherford campuses then gave 20-minute presentations regarding 14 different academic programs.

Following the informational presentations, the students were treated to a lunch that included a 120-foot submarine sandwich from Subway. Each student was also given a gift bag. A SWOSU-Sayre scholarship was awarded to each high school present.  Scholarship recipients will be determined by each school’s counselor in the spring.

The Career Day is an effort by SWOSU to make area high school students aware of academic programs and career opportunities available through the university as they consider options after graduation.
