SWOSU-Sayre MLT Student Places Third at National Writing Contest

Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre medical laboratory technology student Aaron Fultz (second from right) of Haskell recently placed third in this year's American Medical Technologists' Student Writing Awards contest. The SWOSU-Sayre MLT students also recently attended the OKSSAMT/ASCLS One Voice Scientific Meeting in Oklahoma City. Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre medical laboratory technology student Aaron Fultz of Haskell placed third in this year’s American Medical Technologists’ Student Writing Awards contest. 

Fultz received a plaque and cash award for his paper at the national convention held in Providence, R.I.

SWOSU-Sayre Medical Laboratory Technology Program Director Roxann Clifton accepted the award on Fultz’s behalf. While there, Clifton was re-elected to the AMT Board of Directors.  She was also elected vice president of the association.

Fultz was also the recipient of this year’s Debbie Whitson Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship is given by the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital Board of Directors in memory of Whitson, a graduate of the Sayre MLT program. 

In other MLT news, students on the Sayre campus recently presented case studies at the fall Oklahoma OKSSAMT/ASCLS One Voice Scientific Meeting in Oklahoma City.  The trip was sponsored by the SWOSU-Sayre Medical Technology Club.
