Teddy Bear Drive Underway by SWOSU-Sayre PBL

March 2, 2009

Phi Beta Lambda Officers
SWOSU-Sayre Phi Beta Lambda officers Petra Acosta of Sayre and Blake Bustin of Elk City are busy collecting teddy bears for a domestic violence women's shelter in Oklahoma City. Area residents are asked to help with the drive.

Members of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre chapter of Phi Beta Lambda are holding a teddy bear drive.

The business organization's State Leadership Conference will be held March 26-28 at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.  The SWOSU-Sayre students will take the bears they collect to the conference, where they will be delivered to the Oklahoma City YMCA's Domestic Violence Women's Shelter.

Donated bears should be at least eight inches tall.

The chapter that collects the most bears will receive a certificate at the conference and an ice cream party at its school.

If you would like to put a smile on a child's face and donate, bears can be delivered to SWOSU-Sayre PBL sponsor Holly Hernandez or to any of the student officers:  Blake Bustin, Kelsey Ackley, Cyndy Blevins, Sarah Kenney or Petra Acosta. Hernandez can be contacted at (580) 928-5533, extension 153, for more information.
