SWOSU-Sayre Offers New Business and Computer Classes
May 6, 2009
Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre will offer two new classes this summer-Seminar in Bookkeeping and Seminar in QuickBooks.
Both are available for interested community members as well as SWOSU students.
Seminar in QuickBooks will be taught by SWOSU-Sayre Computer Science instructor Debbie Carpenter. She said individuals who use QuickBooks in their occupation or for their personal bookkeeping will benefit from the class. SWOSU students may use the class as an elective for a computer science or business degree as well.
The QuickBooks seminar will meet Mondays through Thursdays from 8-9:15 a.m. Carpenter says that although most of the work will be done hands-on in class, busy students who are able will be allowed to complete coursework independently.
Also being offered for the first time this summer is Seminar in Bookkeeping, taught by SWOSU-Sayre Business instructor Holly Hernandez.
Hernandez said that anyone interested in sharpening bookkeeping and accounting skills-whether a business owner, homemaker or a full-time college student- is encouraged to enroll in the class. To accommodate students who work during the day, the class is offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30.
A full schedule of transferable general education classes is also offered this summer. A complete list of SWOSU-Sayre summer classes is available at http://www.swosu.edu/resources/data/SAYRE_SCHED3.HTM.
Summer classes begin June 2. For further information, call the Registrar's Office at (580) 928-5533.
