Former USA Paralympic Volleyball Player to Speak at SWOSU
Matt Glowacki, who was born without legs, will present his program "Hooray! Building a Community Out of Classmates" at Southwestern Oklahoma State University's mass orientation this Tuesday, August 18, on the Weatherford campus.
The campus community is invited to the presentation that will take place at 2 p.m. in the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus.
Glowacki's birth drew attention because even though he was healthy, he was born without legs. He resides in Sun Prairie (WI) where he is active in many local organizations. He was chosen by the Wisconsin governor to serve on the Governor's Rehabilitation Council, which monitors and oversees the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
He earned his position on the USA Paralympics Team for Sit-Volleyball in June of 1998 after he participated in the World Championships in Washington, D.C. He traveled and competed internationally with the team and attended the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Australia, and the 2002 World Championships in Cairo, Egypt.
