SWOSU College of Pharmacy Getting Ready for Big Homecoming Weekend
Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Doug Ried invites all pharmacy alumni and friends to celebrate SWOSU's Homecoming and remember their time at the College of Pharmacy on October 24.
"This is my first Homecoming at SWOSU and I am looking forward to meeting the alumni who are returning to our College of Pharmacy," said Ried, who took over as dean of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy on July 1 of this year.
The traditional College of Pharmacy open house will be held on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is a come-and-go event that gives alumni a chance to view the renovation of the facilities, see the pharmacy museum, stroll through the Pharmacy Alumni Garden and visit with faculty and former classmates.
A special tribute to the Class of 1959 will be held during the 50-Year Pharmacy Graduate Ceremony at 11 a.m. The 25-Year and 10-Year classes will also be gathering for a reunion. Following the ceremony, the Pharmacy Alumni Association is providing a complimentary lunch for pharmacy alumni and friends attending the open house. All College of Pharmacy events will be held on the third floor of the Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics Building on the SWOSU campus.
"Homecoming is a special time for the College of Pharmacy and for its alumni to come back and reconnect with friends and faculty," said Patti Harper, alumni and development officer for the college. "We are excited about the return of so many our pharmacy graduates. It is an indication of their loyalty, pride and continued support for the SWOSU College of Pharmacy."
