Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen to be at Miss SWOSU Pageant
November 11, 2009
Georgia Frazier is the current Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen, and the Tulsa product will perform at this Saturday's Miss SWOSU Pageant on the Weatherford campus.
Frazier, a 17 year-old senior at Jenks High School, has performed with such stars as Debbie Boone, Jamie Farr and Sam Harris and was a member of the award-winning Jenks High School "Trojanaires" show choir.
Frazier knows first hand how important role models are to young people. She began developing her platform of "Mentoring Works! You are Thumb-Body!" She works with students to realize that everyone is different and unique just like a thumbprint. Logging over 100 community services hours, she strives to inspire each student to know that being different is what truly makes them special.
She plans to continue to reach out to people of all ages to remind people that being a mentor is something each of us can do on a daily basis. She has been named the advocate for the Tulsa Youth Services, which assists troubled youth to find a new path in life.
The Miss SWOSU Pageant this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center will feature seven contestants as well as seven teen contestants. Also, the new Miss SWOSU Little Star program will have 14 candidates. Advance tickets are $7 for non-SWOSU students and $5 for SWOSU students. All tickets at the door are $10. Advance tickets are available in Room 205 of the SWOSU Administration Building and from all contestants.
