Open Studio Planned for Public Art Tapestry
A public art tapestry project being organized by the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Art Department is having an open studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the 2010 spring semester.
E.K. Jeong said the public is invited to see the progress of the project and meet the weavers each Tuesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. except holidays. The studio is located in Room 415 of the Art Building on the Weatherford campus.
The tapestry is being made to represent the life, traditions and symbols of western Oklahoma. Once the tapestry is completed, it will be a traveling display that will be available for display throughout western Oklahoma.
Jeong said groups are welcome to make a special arrangement for viewing.
The project is sponsored by generous funding from the City of Weatherford Hotel/Motel Tax, Weatherford Arts Council, Elizabeth Firestone Graham Foundation and SWOSU. Jeong can be reached at 580.774.3035 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
