SWOSU Nursing Graduate Receives Fellowship
Southwestern Oklahoma State University nursing graduate Towana Ernst was recently awarded a fellowship through the University of Michigan-Flint.
Ernst was one of only five students to receive the fellowship through the Office of Graduate Studies at Flint. Ernst's fellowship will focus on teaching. The award allows her to teach full-time for one year or part-time for two years.
"I am very excited about receiving this fellowship and feel it is a strong reflection on my undergraduate education that I received from Southwestern Oklahoma State University," Ernst said.
During her pursuit of a graduate degree, Ernst has been a clinical instructor for the University of Michigan-Flint.
Ernst, who offers a scholarship each year to students in the SWOSU School of Nursing, was also selected to study abroad in China for three weeks this May.
