Secretary of State Susan Savage to Speak at SWOSU Model UN Fundraising Dinner

Oklahoma Secretary of State Susan Savage will be the keynote speaker at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Model United Nations Valentine banquet set for Thursday, February 11, on the Weatherford campus.

The banquet is a fund-raising program for the Model UN program at SWOSU.  The 7 p.m. event will be in the Memorial Student Center Ballroom. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling Ambassador Kenneth Tillett in the SWOSU Social Sciences Department at (580) 774-7134.

Savage was appointed Oklahoma Secretary of State by Governor Brad Henry on January 13, 2003. In that capacity, she serves as a member of the Governor's cabinet with broad policy duties and as a Constitutional officer with responsibility for international relations, maintenance of the state's registry of official records and policy oversight for several state agencies.

Prior to her service with the State of Oklahoma, Savage served as the Mayor of Tulsa from 1992-2002.
