Stewart and Hix Win SWOSU 5K Run and Walk

Lucas Stewart and Sarah Hix, both of Weatherford, were the top male and female runners at the 3rd annual "Tough Enough Class 5K Run/Walk" hosted recently by Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
The run/walk was hosted by SWOSU students with proceeds going to the upcoming American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Cindy Dougherty, dean of students at SWOSU, said the students raised $5,277.
The event attracted 186 runners/walkers. Stewart won the men's side of the race for the second straight year with a time of 19:03. Hix was the top female finisher with a time of 22:49.
Other top finishers in the men's race were Bradley Jennings with a time of 19:58; Seth Scoville at 20:44; Craig Mahl at 20:54; and Nick West with a time of 21:49. Other top finishers in the women's race were Jennifer Osborn, 23:18; Kara Shrader, 23:26; Paige Craighead, 25:34; and Zandra Allen, 25:49.
Prizes were "Weatherford Chamber Bucks" in the amount of $250 for first place, $200 for second and $150 for third place. Also, the male and female winner in each age group won $50 in Chamber Bucks, all provided by the City of Weatherford's Hotel/Motel Tax Committee.

Ages 45-49: James Ratcliffe and Senea Young
Ages 50-54: Buddy Vogt and Paige Craighead
Ages 55-59: Craig Mahl and Vicki Tosh
Ages 60-64: Doug Haught and Janet Gosnell
