SWOSU Blood Drive This Monday and Tuesday to Benefit Several Causes
Southwestern Oklahoma State University will be the site of a blood drive this Monday and Tuesday, September 20-21, on the Weatherford campus, and the Collegiate Activities Board is using the blood drive to kick off a campaign to celebrate the Old Science Building's 100th anniversary.
Cody Sims, director of CAB, said this blood drive is part of a "Centennial Fest-a-Salute" to the Old Science Building, which is 100 years old this year. Several people on campus are organizing various activities that will be celebrated during SWOSU Homecoming on October 15-16.
By the time of the celebration, Sims said CAB plans to have collected 100 extra pints of blood for the Oklahoma Blood Institute, 100 pounds of paper to recycle and 100 books to send to Africa. They will also have cut out 100 helping hands, signed by supporters of the Old Science Building, which will hang in the building.
The blood drive is this Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Wellness Center. SWOSU t-shirts will be given out, and the event is being billed as a "battle of the genders." The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
