Tobacco Awareness Exhibit Planned Tuesday at SWOSU

October 25, 2010

An interesting take on tobacco awareness is coming to SWOSU tomorrow (Tuesday, October 26).

A group called P.E.E.R.S., a health and wellness company, will be in the Memorial Student Union lobby from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  Students and faculty will have the chance to experience the "Dare to Face Your Future" exhibit.

Laura Smith, director of health services at SWOSU, said the program includes a museum-like exhibit where students/faculty are able to walk through and learn about how smoking affects their lives. It specifically targets the myths (and truths) about smoking. Sophisticated aging software allowing "future" pictures of people are part of the exhibit.

For more information on P.E.E.R.S., contact Smith at (580) 774-3776 or Kim Liebscher, director of counseling services, at (580) 774-3776.
