44 SWOSU Student Organizations Receive Allocation Committee Funding

The SWOSU Allocations Committee has allocated $70,890.46 to 44 campus organizations for the 2010 fall semester on the Weatherford campus.
Cindy Dougherty, dean of students, said the money comes from student fees and will be used for many notable causes and activities.
One group that received funds is the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) that will use the money to help raise awareness for heart disease and diabetes through Operation Heart and Operation Diabetes. Chi Alpha will use their funds to host a free Thursday lunch and help with a freshman mentorship program. Sigma Sigma Chi sorority sponsors a softball tournament to raise money to fight breast cancer.
The allocations committee is comprised of SWOSU students appointed by the deans on the Weatherford campus.
