SWOSU Pharmacy Students Raise Over $1,000 for Medicines and Supplies
Pharmacy students from the Southwestern Oklahoma State University's School of Pharmacy recently raised $1,061 for medicines and supplies for the Agape Medical Clinic in Weatherford.
Agape Medical Clinic, Inc. was established over 10 years ago to provide free medical care to those in need. The clinic relies on donations and contributions from area residents for financial support. The SWOSU students held a spelling bee to raise the funds.
Many SWOSU pharmacy students also volunteer at the clinic.
"The pharmacy students have an understanding of what is needed and their efforts are truly commendable," Agape Medical Center Treasurer Fred Schamburg said.
Agape is fully registered with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy, both as a charitable pharmacy and as a training area for students.
