SWOSU Student Talent Show Offering Big Cash Prizes
Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Bulldog Blitz talent show is coming back, and students on the Weatherford and Sayre campuses will have the opportunity to compete for big cash prizes.
SWOSU students will compete for first place prize money in both individual and group competitions. The individual winner will receive $500 and the group winner will receive $1,000. In order to be eligible to enter the individual category, the contestant must be a student currently enrolled at SWOSU. However, in the group category, only one member of the group is required to be currently enrolled at SWOSU.
Audition tryouts are scheduled for February 28 through March 3 at the SWOSU Conference Center on the Weatherford campus. Interested participants need to sign up for a tryout time in the Dean of Students Office, Room 214 of the Stafford Center. Audition times each day are from 3-7 p.m. The tryout times are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The SWOSU Collegiate Activities Board is sponsoring the 9th Bulldog Blitz. CAB Director Cody Sims said the SWOSU Bulldog Blitz will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
"Talents of all kinds are welcome," Sims said.
The auditioning panel will be comprised of students on the CAB Blitz Committee. Competitors are not expected to arrive in "performance wear" but must be prepared to show the talent that represents what they will perform at the talent show. The show's lineup will be e-mailed to all who try out and posted outside the Dean's office no later than March 9.
