Kid's Fest This Saturday at SWOSU
Kids Fest 2011 is planned this Saturday, April 9, from 1-4 p.m. at the Wellness Center on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Kid's Fest 2011 is a free family event for children (babies to age 8) and parents/grandparents/siblings, according to Kim Kelly of the SWOSU Department of Education. Everyone is invited, and there will be free food and games.
The event is sponsored by the SWOSU-Western Early Childhood Association-Student Organization. Kelly said there will be helpful materials that will benefit families and door prizes will be given out every 10 minutes.
"The SWOSU students have been working hard to make this an enjoyable event," Kelly said. “We are so grateful for all the student organizations who have enlisted to help on Saturday.”
The activities will include inflatable games, a horse petting area, indoor soccer, face painting, finger printing from the OSBI, rock wall climbing, a visit from Smokey the Bear, and a movie theatre showing children’s movies. According to Kelly, last year's event had more than 1,000 in attendance, and they expect more this year.
