SWOSU Continues Great American Cleanup on May 3-4
May 2, 2011
Southwestern Oklahoma State University students, faculty and staff will have another opportunity to participate in the Great American Cleanup campaign on the Weatherford campus.
As students prepare to move out of the residence halls, there are items that can be reused instead of trashed. Volunteers will be collecting gently used items and/or recyclable items this Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3-4, at the following locations from 12 noon until 5 p.m.:
- Outside of Oklahoma Hall, Rogers/Jefferson Halls and Stewart Hall
Items that will be collected include:
- clothing, household items, carpet, linens, small appliances, furniture, etc.
- cardboard, cereal boxes, aluminum, paper, plastics #1 and #2
The Great American Cleanup is the nation's largest annual cleanup, beautification, and community improvement program. The GAC in Weatherford is organized by the Green/Clean/Beautiful Committee, a sub-group of the Weatherford Environment Group. Various activities took place on April 30 in Weatherford.
