Art Exhibit at SWOSU Features Beijing Faculty Works

Art works by the faculty at Beijing Normal University (BNU) are now on exhibit at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford through August 24. The works include Chinese classical painting, calligraphy, oil paintings and drawing. Admission is free, and the public is invited. Hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is sponsoring a “Together” art exhibition in the Art Building gallery until August 24 on the Weatherford campus.

The exhibition features art work by the faculty at Beijing Normal University (BNU). The works include Chinese classical painting, calligraphy, oil paintings and drawing. The program at BNU is well known for its emphasis on Chinese classical art.

The exhibition is open to the public, and admission is free. Hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. A reception will be held Monday, August 22, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. and everyone is invited.

This event is part of the SWOSU International Exchange Program. SWOSU has had an agreement with BNU since December 2010. Three BNU faculty members—Jianhui Yu, Li Lang and Jiaduo Li—are participating in the exchange program this year. The exhibition is also supported by the SWOSU Art Department.
