Tillett to be Honored at Oklahoma Human Rights Commission Ceremony

Kenneth E. Tillett, instructor in the SWOSU Department of Social Sciences, will be honored with a Governor’s Service Commendation this Tuesday, October 18, in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Human Rights Commission is honoring Tillett and eight other individuals at a ceremony at the Oklahoma History Center. A reception will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program at 6:30 p.m. Keynote speakers for the event are Dr. Bob L. Blackburn, executive director of the Oklahoma Historical Society, and Bruce Fisher, administrative program officer for the Oklahoma Historical Society.

This will be the 25th annual human rights ceremony, which is a celebration of human rights in Oklahoma.

In addition to Tillett, other honorees are Steve Bruner, Carl Downing, Mari Fagin, Stanley Evans, Elvia Hernandez, Neil McElderry, Michael Rubenstein and Wilfredo Santos-Rivera.
