Attorneys to Speak at Thursday's Understanding Mineral Rights Seminar at SWOSU
Attorneys David Duncan of Weatherford and Mart Tisdal of Clinton will discuss the legal aspects of mineral rights and property management at the final “Understanding Mineral Rights in Oklahoma” seminar this Thursday, November 10, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
The SWOSU Continuing Education program at 6 p.m. is free and open to the public. The program will be held at the SWOSU Conference Center, located at the corner of Seventh and Davis Streets.
The Duncan and Tisdal talk is the final of three free seminars for mineral owners and interested parties in western Oklahoma. Nearly 200 people have attended the two previous sessions with Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy and Chesapeake’s James Roller and Steve Schmidt.
Duncan has been a licensed Oklahoma attorney since 1978. He is a 1974 graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Duncan has been in the private practice of law based in the City of Weatherford. In addition to his private practice, Duncan is also the city attorney for the City of Weatherford. He also represents many area land owners with regard to real estate and oil/gas issues.
Tisdal is a resident of Clinton. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1970 and obtained a Juris Doctorate from the OU College of Law in 1976. He is currently senior attorney in the Tisdal Law Firm based in Clinton. Tisdal represents area land owners with regard to real estate and oil/gas issues. He has also been a frequent lecturer and presenter on oil/gas issues in Oklahoma.
