Ralph Wins Pharmacy Leadership Award from Rho Chi at SWOSU

Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy Associate Dean Dr. David A. Ralph of Weatherford was recently selected as the Pharmacy Leadership Society 2011 Honored Alumnus by the SWOSU Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society.
Ralph, a native of Miami, recently served as guest speaker and honorary Rho Chi president at the Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma initiation ceremony held on the Weatherford campus.
Ralph graduated from the SWOSU College of Pharmacy in 1975. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from SWOSU and a Ph.D. degree in Adult and Community Education from the University of Oklahoma. The Commerce High School graduate has been at SWOSU for 41 years as a student, faculty member and administrator.
While at the SWOSU College of Pharmacy, he has chaired and served on numerous committees including the Curriculum Committee, Awards Committee, and the ACPE Self-Study Steering Committee. Additionally, he has had leadership roles on other College of Pharmacy and university committees.
Ralph has also served in leadership roles with Pharmat, a non-profit corporation that produced correspondence courses for pharmacists. He served 38 years on the Pharmat Board of Directors and most recently as executive director from 2004-2009. He was also co-founder of InPHARMation, Inc., a pharmacy-consulting corporation. He also serves as the financial administrator for the Southwestern Pharmacy Alumni Foundation.
In addition to publishing articles and abstracts and presenting papers, posters and pharmacy continuing education programs, Ralph has taught numerous courses in the College of Pharmacy and served as the Apothecary advisor. He is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, SWOSU College of Pharmacy Alumni Association and Weatherford Kiwanis Club.
He is married to Vicki Lynn Edwards, also a SWOSU graduate. They have three children—Andy, Derek and Kacie (Purdum)—who all are SWOSU graduates. They also have one grandchild—Graham Ralph.
Patti Harper, alumni and development director with the SWOSU College of Pharmacy, said Ralph has displayed a devoted commitment to the profession of pharmacy, SWOSU and the SWOSU College of Pharmacy and to the community.
