Yuan-Ta Hsu Art Exhibit Starts January 16 at SWOSU
An exhibit featuring the art works of Yuan-Ta Hsu will be held January 16 through February 10 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Yuan-Ta Hsu uses photography and digitally altered photo composites to portray concepts related to social issues such as identity, social norms and relationships. The exhibition consists of two series, one titled “Skin Series” and the other “The Container Series.”
The works will be on display in the SWOSU Art Building Gallery from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Admission is free.
A gallery talk and reception/discussion will be held Tuesday, January 24, with the talk starting at 12 noon followed by the reception/discussion at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free to the come-and-go event, which is open to the public. Then on Wednesday, January 25, a free lecture about public art will take place at 12 noon followed by a discussion at 1 p.m. All events are in the Art Building Gallery.
Yuan-Ta Hsu is originally from Yilan, Taiwan. He received his B.L. from the Public Administration Department of National Taipei University. He later received his M.A. in Art Criticism from the Graduate Institute of Art History and Art Criticism at Tainan National University of the Arts.
He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Fine Arts at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He has served as a lecturer, editor and designer, art critic, curator and art exhibitor. He is an award-winning artist who has shown art works internationally.
