Largest Blood Drive Ever Held February 6-7 at SWOSU
February 8, 2012
Oklahoma Blood Institute officials are reporting that the February 6-7 blood drive held at Southwestern Oklahoma State University was the largest blood drive on record at the university in Weatherford.
Over 300 potential blood donors signed in during the two-day event and 244 were successful in giving blood products. Rick Story, blood program consultant, said the donors provided the potential to save 732 lives.
The drive was sponsored by SWOSU Residence Life. Neff Hall was recognized for recruiting the most blood donors, and Story gave special thanks to the SWOSU football team for its support.
“SWOSU students and faculty do rock!” Story said.
